march 24th is the birth of the new moon...a time for defining and setting our intentions for the month and begin focusing energy on healing and growth. the 25th (my birthday) and the one year anniversary of our chapter of the red tent temple. i hosted this event at my house and we had a wonderful gathering of about 30 women. we sang, danced and more beautiful blooms appearing daily in my garden ...here is my week in pictures
anjuli's azalea tree...just outside her bedroom window. when we first bought our home (24 years ago) anjuli was only 3 years old and the tree was very sad looking. it barely bloomed at all.
over the years we've nurtured it and treated it with nutrients to fortify and strengthen it, poor dear.
azaleas at my house are budding and blooming. this year mother's day will not be the same without these.
anjuli singing one of her newest songs. she has such a lovely voice and is a good writer too. winning combo. i tried to post a video of this without success. but here is my lovely daughter doing what she does best.
when we purchased our house 24 years ago, the wisteria was massive. we had to cut it all back to repair our porch and the pillars of the portachere. i cried when we chopped it out, but was determined to grow back. we built an arbor encouraging it to grow only on the structure, and containing the new growth so it wouldn't ruin the new wooden pillars. every year it gets bigger and better.

uma and i took a walk to the park on a chilly afternoon.
like her e-ma, umaka is a people watcher. sometimes
she gets such a far off look in her eyes as she
carefully observes people around her.
